Brockenhurst probably has one of the best village rail services in the UK. Fast and frequent mainline services give excellent access to nearby towns and beyond.

The station's unrivalled position in the centre of the New Forest allows visitors to get away from it all and plan a completely car free break in the New Forest. With bike hire points and full transport interchange facilities at the station whether you are biking or walking you are only minutes away from hotels, guest houses, shops and the tranquilly of the Forest itself. Taxis are available at the station until late at night.

Main Line Trains

Weymouth to London-Waterloo – Fast (every 30 minutes).

Poole to London-Waterloo –Semi Fast (every 60 minutes).

Bournemouth to Birmingham via Reading and Oxford, (every 60 minutes or every 30 minutes by changing at Southampton) - trains then continue to the North or Scotland.

All trains stop at Southampton Airport, Southampton Central, Winchester and Bournemouth. By changing at Southampton Central, Portsmouth, Romsey, Salisbury, Bristol, Brighton & Gatwick Airport can be quickly reached.

Local Line Trains

Brockenhurst-Wareham (hourly) stopping services for many South Coast resorts west of the village.

Lymington & the Isle of Wight

Brockenhurst to Lymington Pier service runs every 30 minutes until about 9.30pm. Travel the 6 miles through timeless New Forest scenery to connect to the ferries to Yarmouth, Isle of Wight. Ideal for a trip to the Island or avoiding the parking problems when visiting Lymington's famous Saturday market.

Buses & Coaches

Blue Star Route 6 Lymington to Southampton - mostly day time service(mostly every 60 minutes) includes stops at the rail station and village centre. National Express Coaches run daily to London and Heathrow Airport from Waters Green.

College Buses. Any member of the public can use the buses operated for the students at Brockenhurst College. There are currently 18 different routes (some of them term-time only) which can directly take you as far as Salisbury, Eastleigh, Romsey, Hythe, Mudeford, Southbourne or Ringwood. There is usually only one bus a day in each direction, mostly out of the village in the afternoon. Perhaps not much use if you work normal hours but what about leisure use? Bus passes are valid although fares vary but even the longest journey does not currently exceed £9 return.  For more information and current routes see the on the timetables.

Tourist Bus (seasonal)

Daily seasonal circular route from Brockenhurst station - where it will meet train services. Capable or carrying bikes the route takes in more than 25 'official' stops on the tour, including Lyndhurst, Beaulieu, and its' National Motor Museum, Lymington Pier for the IOW ferry terminal. Other stops include the Forestry Commission campsites of Denny Wood, Hollands Wood and Matley Wood, as well as a number of pubs, hotels and B&B's.

A live time bus departure board has recently been added to the bus stop on Waters Green. Also travellers with ‘smart-phones’ may find these “apps” useful. ‘Bus Checker’ provides a map of available bus routes, the location of bus stops and timetables. The National Rail “app” provides the rail traveller a planner and live time running information.
