Citizen of Brockenhurst Award
Brockenhurst Parish Council are pleased to announce our second year of running the Citizen of Brockenhurst Awards.

Congratulations to the winners from our 2025 Awards:

Entries were judged by Kevin Plummer, Chair of Brockenhurst Village Trust, local vicar Simon Newham and Russell Horne, Chair of Brockenhurst Parish Council.
“The range of nominations was inspiring, seeing so many people use both hands to help other people, putting themselves out to provide a service, or better place to live,” said Russell Horne.
The three local people who received awards are:
Mrs Elizabeth Wingham - Contribution to Brockenhurst Life
Elizabeth Wingham
Liz contributes tirelessly, quietly & enthusiastically to Brockenhurst Village life.
Liz is involved in a number of organisations, President of Brockenhurst WI, Brockenhurst Day Centre, Friday lunch club and Brockcare committee.
Liz always works with great efficiency, compassion and always with a smile on her face.

Julie Wootten - Brockenhurst Friend of the Year 2025.
Julie has been a very attentive neighbour and friend to those around her, especially those who have been unwell.
She is always willing to help and show kindness. Whatever she has taken on she does to the very best and is always reliable and trustworthy.

Ben & Nye are brother and sister.
They have set up a club “The young river guardians of the New Forest”.
They aim to test and report on the pollutants in the rivers around the Brockenhurst and have already raised over £100 to purchase the testing equipment they need.
Prizes, were presented at the Brockenhurst Parish Council Annual Parish meeting. Russell Horne confirmed that he was delighted with the number of entries and was happy to thank not only the winners but also recognise the tireless efforts many residents make to the community and hope this will inspire others.
