Parish Council Meetings

🕖 Regular Meetings:

  • The Parish Council meets on the third Tuesday of each month (except where the December meeting falls in the festival holiday period) at 7:00 PM in the Village Hall.

🗣 Public Attendance & Participation:

  • Meetings are held in public and members of the public are welcome to attend Parish Council and committee meetings.
  • A short period at the beginning of each meeting is designated for members of the public to make presentations.

📅 Annual Parish Meeting:

  • The 2026  Annual Parish Meeting is on Wednesday 29 April 2026. (Unlike a parish council meeting, the annual parish meeting is a public meeting where parishioners have the right to speak on relevant matters during the meeting.)

🏛 Role of the Planning Committee:

  • The Parish Council Planning Committee is a Statutory Consultee that reviews local planning applications and submits its comments to the New Forest National Park Authority (NFNPA), which acts as the planning authority.

🗣 Public Attendance & Participation:

  • Meetings are open to the public, and community members may address Councillors with comments or concerns regarding planning applications.

📅 Meeting Schedule:

  • The Planning Committee usually meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month. However, dates may change.
  • To confirm the meeting date or check when a specific application will be discussed, please email the Parish Clerk.

Personnel Committee

📅 Meeting Schedule:

  • The Personnel Committee meets a minimum of twice per year.
  • The committee acts as the Council’s human resources (HR) department, managing all employment, staffing, and welfare matters for the council’s employees
  • Because this committee often deals with highly sensitive and confidential data, some or all of their meetings can be held in private, excluding the press and public.

Policy, Resources & Finance Committee

📅 Meeting Schedule:

  • The Policy, Resources & Finance Committee meets at least four times per year.
  • The committee is responsible for implementing the Council's policies and procedures, ensuring adequate provision of resources, and managing Council finances, including setting the precept each year.

Events Working Group

🤝 Working Group Membership:
The Events Working Group includes representatives from:

  • Brockenhurst Business Association
  • Friends of Brockenhurst
  • Brockenhurst Church of England Primary School PTA
  • Brockenhurst Parish Church
  • Brockenhurst Rotary Club
  • Brockenhurst College

🎉 Role & Activities:
The Working Group organises various community events, including:

  • Annual Pancake Races
  • Christmas Fun Evening
  • Events for national or local commemorations
